Maybe I missed it. Have you already tried restarting all these devices at the same time—your printer, your Mac, and the router? If not, give this a try. On the Canon printer. I had tried all the steps, except step 8!

After cleaning out the drivers and using the printers IP address to identify the printer, the computer decided to download a driver for the printer, and finally I can print. Its taken days, on and off, to get this working. My iPad has been printing to the same printer for years. Oh well, that just leaves scanning, but it looks like there might be an APP for that, we will see. Thank you for your helpful article. Glad you got it working! Have done constant updates to computer now on I can print images now, whoopie. Text of any kind will not print whether Word, Pages, emails or web pages.

What else can I do? I have an Advent AW10 and started having issues a few weeks ago.
I have tried the steps above and still getting the same issue. Anyone know what the problem may be? Used to be there were generic print drivers that might not give access to all the features of a printer but that would at least let me print single-sided pages. Does anyone know of anything available under Sierra OS X Thank you for a truly helpful article. Steps 8 and then 6 solved my issue my Mac would state that the printer was not connected when it was clearly connected to my network. Posted on Apr 16, AM. The printer component of the MP can take longer to appear than the scanner component.

The scanner uses Bonjour to advertise itself on the wireless network, while the printer component uses a proprietary protocol called "canonijnetwork". But if you wait at least 15 seconds more, the printer should appear showing "canonijnetwork" in the Kind column.

If this printer component does not appear after 30 seconds maximum then it would suggest a problem with the printer driver installation. Then download the latest MP driver via this link and run the installer. With the installation completed, try to add the printer again. Posted on Apr 16, PM.

The scanner is having a lovely time letting me know it is there and ready to use, but sadly no printer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am not realy techno savvy so will need step by step instructions. I did manage to follow the above with a little difficulty. I have a Mac OS X Feb 5, PM.
