Silverlight installation problem netflix mac
I have Silverlight installed and can use Netflix in both Safari and Chrome but in Helium I keep getting redirected to the "install Silverlight" page.
What do I need to do to get it to recognize that Silverlight is installed? ETA running Still the same issue. Hardware: Macbook Pro Retina, 3.
If it isn't already, try switching giving the account you're using on you computer admin privileges temporarily. I recall having issues with using silverlight with netflix initially too, and that resolved it at that time. So when I had trouble with helium doing the same thing, I gave it a shot after uninstalling and reinstalling and it worked for me. This account has root privileges, so I don't think that's the issue. I also uninstalled and reinstalled it as well as tried running it directly from the command line. No changes. Any other ideas?

I had the same problem with the silverlight update not installing. I just separated it from the other updates and reinstalled………. No problems……….
It installed without difficulty. I just had the same experience as you. I installed all of the patch Tuesday updates on offer, but after the required re-boot, I found that two more were available: Update for Microsoft.

I am not certain whether they were part of the patch Tuesday set. I instructed Windows Update to download and install them. Upon completion, I received the message that the Silverlight failed to install. I downloaded and ran MicrosoftFixit I returned to Windows Update, checked for updates and was informed that none were available.
The update history still listed Silverlight KB as failed, but it did appear in the installed programs list as Silverlight 4.
As an experiment, I downloaded and Silverlight 4. As a further experiment, I uninstalled Silverlight 4. My impression is that the original installation probably did succeed and the failure message was erroneous.
I do not know whether MicrosoftFixit Failed silverlight update, plus there seems to be a bug in a MSE definition. When viewing google. My Silverlight version is 5.
